What Season Are You In Right Now?

There seems to be seasons in our life, short ones and long ones.

I love the times in my life where everything is organizaed, on schedule, and moving along just the way I like. These are times when my home life is harmonious, I am not upset with any of my friends and they are not upset with me, my husband is treating me well, and I like the way I look. I feel, for a moment, that I am in control, and my hope is that nothing changes. These are the short seasons of life.

Then are the times that God seems to be scattering everything by changing my routine, friends, job and family dynamics. I feel unorganized and anxious. I begin to worry how everything will turn out and I shut my eyes and hope for the best. These seasons feel like they last too long.

Did you know that this is scriptural? Did you know that this is part of God’s plan for our lives? Take a look at Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, but specifically focus on verse 5. God allows our lives to be both organized and chaotic. While we’d much rather have calm waters, we grow closer to Christ in the hard times (if we make the decision to do so).

Trusting God through fearful times requires us to believe that He really cares about us and wants what’s best for us. We learn to believe when we either see His faithfulness or just choose to believe Him because His word says what He is like. He is a good God and He does want us to believe He loves us and believe He sent His Son for us. Our goal as Christians is to be like Him in all seasons of our lives.
