“I have got great news!” Don’t you love hearing those words? I know I do. There seems to be two types of people in this world: those who usualy have good news to share and those who generally have bad news to share. This is not to say that “good news” people don’t have sad news to share once in a while, but they are able to see God’s hand in what is going on and bounce back. “Bad news” people are full of self-pity and blame, and cannot see what God may be doing in the big picture. Each time you talk to them, life sounds so bleak.
When Christ’s birth was being announced it was good news:
“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.” Luke 2:10
And when Jesus started preaching around age 30, He had lots of good news to share: the poor were blessed, the kingdom of God belonged to the children, and He was never going to forsake us!!
Consider today how you can become a good news person!
